Innovative Educator: Dr. Ray Bareiss of Carnegie Mellon University

We at Department Logistics want to recognize Dr. Ray Bareiss for his work and guidance to educational community. 

Dr. Ray Bareiss, former Director of Educational Programs and Professor of the Practice of Software Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr Bareisshas provided faculty with guidance on Experential Learning.  Dr. Bareiss is currently working as Senior Vice President of Socratic Arts and Chief Education Officer of Experiential Teaching Online, a leading provider of online courses and degree programs in partnership with top universities. 

He was a founding employee of Cognitive Arts Corporation and served as Executive Vice President for strategic projects. Prior to joining Cognitive Arts, Dr. Bareiss was Assistant Director of the Institute for the Learning Sciences at Northwestern
University, as well as a Research Associate Professor of Computer Science and Education. Dr. Bareiss specializes in computer-based learning environments, organizational memory and computer-based performance support, human-computer interaction, and artificial intelligence. He is also the author of a number of books and articles. Dr. Bareiss holds a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences and a B.S. in Communication from the University of Texas at Austin.
